DADE CITY COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
From authentic Havanna style recipes to creative Tampa inspired twists. Discover eight restaurants serving some of the best Cuban sandwiches in Dade City. Few sandwiches have achieved the iconic status of the pressed Cuban sandwich, or Cubano. Crispy on the outside, warm and melty on the inside, it’s a Florida favorite that has earned a loyal following—especially here in Dade City.
The Cuban sandwich’s origins are as layered as the sandwich itself. Spanish settlers introduced ingredients such as ham, Swiss cheese, and crusty bread to Cuba, where they blended with local flavors, including roasted pork and pickles. The sandwich became more widely recognized as a lunchtime staple in the late 1800s as Cuban immigrants established communities in places like Ybor City, where the Cubano became a lunchtime staple. Today, it remains one of Florida’s signature culinary traditions.
BEEF ‘O’ BRADY’S: Made with Famous La Segunda Cuban Bread. Many residents will recognize the café as the former home of the beloved Olga’s Bakery & Deli, whose legacy remains part of the building’s story. Being just a short drive from the birthplace of the modern Cuban sandwich, it’s no surprise that Dade City has embraced this local classic. Whether you prefer a traditional recipe or a unique twist, these eight local restaurants each bring something special to the table.

Consistently praised by customers, the café’s Cuban has quickly become one of downtown Dade City’s standout sandwiches.
