Sandra Jean McMillan Obituary
Sandra Jean McMillan was born May 07, 1938, in Dade City, FL and died March 23, 2025, at the age of 86 after a short period of hospice care in
Zephyrhills, FL.
Sandra grew up in Dade City, Lacoochee, and the Forest Hills area of Tampa with her parents Loyal and Norma Hayward. Ten years after Sandra was
born she was joined in life by her brother L. Harry Hayward. Sandra attended Hillsborough High School graduating with honors in the Class of
1956.
After graduation Sandra worked as a Dental Assistant and while doing so met the love of her life Daniel (Danny) James McMillan. Danny and Sandra married December 19, 1959, and in 1960 their first son Kevin was born followed in 1967 by their son Mace. After Kevin’s birth Sandra dedicated her life to becoming a homemaker for her family. In 1969, Sandra and her family moved back to the Dade City area in Saint Joe on acreage she turned into a lush garden featuring native Florida plants and butterflies.
Sandra had a close relationship with Jesus her Lord and Savior and looked forward to reuniting with her family in Heaven. She was kind to her friends and could be funny with a quick wit that she often kept hidden. Most will fondly remember Sandra for her beautiful smile, love of her pet cats, and delicious baked goods. Her cookies,
cakes and cobblers were the highlight of many a holiday and she loved to share them. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband Danny. All buried in the generational family area of Mount Zion Cemetery. She is survived by her sons Kevin and Mace along with Mace’s wife Penny McMillan. She will be greatly missed by all.
