Forest Lake Estates’ Mother’s Day celebration kicked off with an impressive turnout of 165 attendees.

Forest Lake Estates’ Mother’s Day celebration kicked off with an impressive turnout of 165 attendees, an outstanding number considering the absence of snowbirds.

The event offered a warm and inviting atmosphere, where families and friends gathered to honor the special figures in their lives.

Jim Dill, President of the HOA, took the opportunity to recognize and thank individuals who contributed to the event’s success. He introduced Chris Strong, whom he praised for her efforts in organizing the celebration. Additionally, he acknowledged and extended gratitude to the men stationed at the food table for their service in ensuring all were well-fed.

Dill also noted that even with the absence of snowbirds, the HOA upheld its monthly tradition of naming a “Volunteer of the Month.”

He commended Doug Robey, recognizing his efforts in morning setups, evening breakdowns, and assistance during events.

Jim Dill also led a heartfelt blessing, not only honoring mothers but also offering special prayers for those who have faced the unimaginable loss of a child. He acknowledged the enduring pain such a loss brings, emphasizing that it is a sorrow that never truly fades.

The blessing extended to encompass grandmothers, as well as a prayer for the new Pope. A special moment was dedicated to military mothers, recognizing their sacrifices being away from their families to serve and ensure the freedoms we enjoy today.

Residents and their guests were treated to a delightful array of breakfast and lunch items, including French toast sticks, egg custard, muffins, pigs in a blanket and desserts, as well as beverages of mimosas, cranberry and orange juice.

As the celebration ended, about ten door prizes were given away. Tickets were drawn, and the winners happily claimed their prizes. ©
