Zephyrhills High School Honors Volunteers During Appreciation Dinner
“Some people look for a beautiful place, others make a place beautiful.”

The evening started off with a few announcements by Judy Wilson, Parent Involvement and Volunteer Coordinator. Words of thanks, praise and appreciation came from Principal Amanda McCoy for all volunteers giving to students.
A delicious dinner was cooked and served by the ZHS Career Transition Program. Following dinner, Jay Klamer of the Zephyrhills Elks led the attendees in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
Judith Brown was recognized as the Volunteer of the Year, along with Donnie Welch as Supporter of the Year.
April Simons, National Honor Society, emphasized the importance of students completing community service hours to graduate. The focus is on “teaching kids to give back to the kids, the community and instilling a sense of pride.”
The ABC Program – Assist, Believe and Care provides food, clothing, hygiene products, gift cards Christmas presents, Holiday meals and lots of love to homeless students. Gwen Klamer, Zephyrhills Elks, presented a check for $1000 raised by members and Bingo Players.
Also present were Assistant Principals, Jennifer Yonkoff, 12th Grade; Eva Wasilewski, 11th Grade; Rodney McKinney, 10th Grade and Kristen Hardy, 9th Grade.
Closing out the evening, credit was given to the group of women volunteers who set up and pack boxes on weekends for the students, providing food and hygiene products for 74 kids.
