Bulldogs Triumph Over Pasco in Homecoming Celebration, Stay Undefeated at 6-0
Zephyrhills enjoyed a thrilling Homecoming night on Friday as they decisively defeated rival Pasco 49-12 at Bulldog Stadium, maintaining their perfect season record. The Bulldogs improved to an impressive 6-0, showcasing a well-rounded offensive strategy and a spirited home crowd.
Running back Roe Miller got things started with a bang, scoring twice in the first quarter to propel Zephyrhills to a 13-0 advantage. By halftime, the Bulldogs had significantly widened the gap, with Miller notching a third touchdown on the ground and quarterback Patrick Harding connecting with Sanyiin Black for two touchdown passes. The halftime score stood at a commanding 35-6 in favor of Zephyrhills.
The Bulldogs continued their strong performance in the second half, as Graylon Johnson added another rushing touchdown. Bear Keating later made a highlight-worthy play, throwing a touchdown pass to Kingston McCullough. By the start of the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs had extended their lead to 49-6.
Head coach Nick Carroll underscored the importance of both the rivalry and the Homecoming festivities. "I told the team that some games will always stick with you, and Pasco is definitely one of those. No matter how the teams are performing, it’s a game you remember. We made sure to stress the significance of this matchup, especially with it being Homecoming. I wanted the players to feel the energy from the crowd. I’m proud of our coaches and players, and I hope they enjoy the celebrations afterward."
The evening was not solely about the game itself; halftime activities included the announcement of the Homecoming court, with Zachary Carroll and Emma Contrares being named Prince and Princess, while Ethan Stone and Kylie Graef took home the titles of King and Queen.
With this significant victory, Zephyrhills will now take a bye week to regroup before embarking on a series of three away games.
